Hussmann: Always Working to Protect the Environment  
Hussmann has been developing technologies that offer energy efficiency for over 15 years. Some of these technologies, like Innovator doors, were developed mainly to help our customers reduce energy costs. Others, like the Protocol refrigeration system, were developed to specifically address environmental concerns. We currently offer a variety of products and services which can have a significant impact in helping to reduce emissions. The time has arrived for us to actively promote wider adoption of these products and services.

At Hussmann, we work in three specific areas to help address environmental concerns.

Promote Internal Green Activities.
We have an ongoing internal awareness program to create a “culture of green” within the Hussmann organization. Through this effort we are promoting green behaviors such as ride sharing, recycling, energy saving within our facilities, and more. We are asking every Hussmann employee to be on the Green Team, contributing at home and at work to help protect the environment. We also work with our suppliers, encouraging them to use sustainable practices and materials whenever possible, and we look for parts, supplies and materials that offer green benefits.

Partner With Customers to Go Green.
We believe green benefits and financial benefits can often go hand in hand. After all, when we use less energy or refrigerant, we also reduce cost. Combining both benefits offers the best opportunity for adoption. Hussmann focuses on promoting our technologies that offer environmental benefits plus operating cost savings. In addition, we provide information and support to our customers so they can, in turn, promote green awareness with their customers.

Develop New, Greener Innovations.
Hussmann has long been an innovation leader in the retail food industry. We are placing new focus and awareness on the environmental component of every new product and service we develop. Our objective is to continuously develop new technologies that have a significant impact in reducing emissions.
