Hussmann is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Director of Strategic Programs to join our dynamic IT organization and help guide an industry leading organization into the future. As the IT Director of Strategic Programs, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the strategic initiatives and projects of our information technology department, with a specific focus on ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) strategy and execution. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of key ERP projects while ensuring alignment with the organization's PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) program. This is a leadership role that requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, exceptional project management skills in the ERP domain, and the ability to interact and influence stakeholders at all levels of business leadership.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine the IT department's strategic plan, aligning technology initiatives with the organization's overall goals and objectives.

2. Project Management: Lead and manage the execution of strategic IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This includes resource allocation, risk management, and regular project reporting.

3. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads, executives, and external partners, to understand their technology needs, identify opportunities, and ensure successful project delivery.

4. IT Governance: Establish and enforce project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with industry best practices. Develop metrics and KPIs to measure project performance and provide regular status updates to senior management.

5. Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and trends to identify potential opportunities for innovation and process improvement. Make recommendations on the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT projects.

6. Technology Management: Lead the high-level architecture design, implementation, and support of enterprise resource planning (ERP) program; provide project management and leadership to staff and external resources in support of established goals and objectives, improved efficiencies, and problem resolution.

7. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team to drive excellence and continuous improvement.

8. Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT project budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, cost control, and value optimization. Monitor expenditures and justify budgetary needs for strategic initiatives.

9. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles that may impact project success. Develop contingency plans and escalation procedures to address issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or other relevant business qualifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of applicable IT experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing strategic IT projects and initiatives, with a focus on ERP strategy and execution.
  • Experience leading post-merger integrations (PMI) projects.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, processes, and best practices especially in a manufacturing business.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex ERP projects on time and within budget. Certification in project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align ERP initiatives with overall organizational goals.
  • Experience in leading and managing ERP strategy development and execution, including vendor selection, system implementation, customization, and integration.
  • Familiarity with PLM programs and the ability to align ERP and PLM initiatives to ensure seamless integration and data flow interim and long term.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including business leadership.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how master data links cross functionally.
