This position is responsible for design and maintenance of SQL Server DB for data warehousing Reporting, Application - data management, various DataMart’s, business rules, Performance of applications and Reporting to fulfill business intelligence & Application teams requests. The DBA will work closely with different department leaders and architects to design, develop and support application DB, business intelligence reports, scorecards, data structures, and dashboards.

  • Drive and lead product, system, or project initiatives from plan to implementation in support of delivering business value
  • Collaborate with internal and external Business Partners to ensure effective prioritization of products, systems, and projects. Lead and work closely with applications architects and support team to achieve business needs.
  • Responsible for design, development, and implementation of DB solutions for managing data in operational systems, data repositories, and reporting and analytical applications this includes Initiate, analyze, design, develop, test and implement any changes related SQL server DB
  • Create and propose Required (Functional and Technical) documentation which includes current and future functionality, objects affected, specifications, and flows/diagrams for infrastructure and applications team.
  • Participates in CAB and release management to ensure driving industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge
  • Monitor all DW Jobs and application DB performance and provide support for investigating and troubleshooting production issues along with supporting, monitoring, execute production jobs and processes.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on functional and technical demands
  • Develop task assignments and manage team activities to fulfill business requirements
  • Enhance user experience by developing continues improvement aspect in access management, release management.
  • Audit processes and procedures within IT framework to achieve best practices
  • Identify areas of cost savings and productivity improvements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree preferred. Equivalent experience, education and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of Bachelors.
  • 4+ years experience with degree
  • 10+ years relevant experience without degree

Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of Experience SQL Server database administration & Configuration and detail knowledge and experience on all the versions of SQL server 2008, 2008r2, 20012,2014 and 2017.
  • Experience in supporting and hands on experience in Migrations from on-premises to Azure IAAS and PAAS servers.
  • Deploy, Configure, Maintain Compute on Azure IAAS and PAAS servers.
  • Troubleshoot Azure related issues and engage internal teams and vendor issue resolutions.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the financial impact of specific role and basic understanding of other functions within the business
  • Experience in installing MS SQL Server2017/2016/2014/2012/2008 R2 and updating with hot fix and service packs
  • Experience in production support, 24 X 7 on call
  • Experience in supporting development and testing of systems enhancements and maintains strong working relationship and open communications with full-time and contract staff
  • Collaborate with customers to clarify and document specific requirements
  • Participate in system designs sessions with customers, identifying issues, and recommending resolutions
  • Experience in High Availability & Disaster Recovery Solutions – Log Shipping, Mirroring (High safety and High performance), Replication (Snapshot, Merge & Transactional) and Clustering (Active-Passive and Active - Active)
  • Review and monitor Health of the system resources (i.e., database storage, memory, CPU, network usage, and I/O contention).
  • Participate in technical discussions with vendors and consultants
  • Facilitate customer service feedback process and adjust process to improve customer service
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Analyze root causes and recommend ways to fix the issue
  • Understand vendor relationships and when to involve supervisors
  • Work in a team setting to improve oneself and coworkers
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
