RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Manage demand input into Oracle based on shipment date and back schedule. Ensure that all spreadsheet maintained master scheduling tools (assembly schedule) are synchronized with Oracle master schedule.
  2. Release master schedule information to sales & marketing, purchasing, manufacturing and finance
  3. Identify conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity and facilitate effective resolution.
  4. Maintain planned lead times, safety stocks, delivery times for all product items
  5. Determine out-of-balance conditions, identify alternatives, and recommend action for approval
  6. Review each master scheduled item on a weekly basis
  7. Coordinate delivery schedules with the Buyer/Planners for high dollar components
  8. Develop labor forecasting based on forecasting data from the sales force
  9. Work with our sales organization to enhance the data integrity of our forecasting system
  10. Gives direction and support to the Planning Assistants
  11. Troubleshoots problems and implements solutions or recommends solutions to appropriate resources for problem resolution.
  12. Direct the activities of the shipping department employees to meet daily shipping schedules. Has full responsibility / accountability to manage outbound shipping processes to meet daily customer demand. 
  13. Maintain focus on meeting plant objectives in safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost
  14. Plan daily and weekly work assignments with complete and clear work instructions for all direct and indirect labor reports
  15. Facilitate and actively participate in the development and training of hourly employees.
  16. Drive major change initiatives, such as employee involvement programs. 
  17. Take corrective action and remedy substandard performance deviations from policies, procedures and processes occurring within the department
  18. Use system information to identify and correct root causes of shipping / inventory errors, labor inefficiency, and to attain department goals
  19. Demonstrate a professional level of leadership in supervising departmental employees


REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred.
  • Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Capacity Resource Planning, Material Requirements Planning, Inventory Control, and Production Shop Floor Control disciplines.
  • 10+ years experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree preferred
