The Supply Chain Focus Factory Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and has responsibility over the following functions/operations: Master Scheduling, Production Control (Planning, Inventory Control, Scheduling), Supply Chain Management (Purchasing, Central Stores Operation) and Shipping (On Time). This is a working management role. The Supply Chain Focus Factory Manager will work closely with multiple business leaders, developing strategies and coordinating all related supply chain activities to ensure that safety, quality, cost and on time part / case shipments are met. The incumbent has fiduciary responsibilities for departmental budget and total inventory.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Procure purchased parts according to MRP. Keep in line with needs of production schedule. Expedite as necessary to support customer needs. Develop proactive systems to supply on-time delivery support to manufacturing and meeting inventory objectives.
2. Drive supplier, scheduling, inventory control, central store and shipping improvement: cost, quality, delivery, and inventory.
3. Manage the production schedule. Lead coordination between manufacturing, customer service, engineering, and purchasing.
4. Direct the department to ensure accountability, fair and consistent discipline to maintain high employee morale. Implement programs for the development of the department’s personnel.
5. Lead the inventory process, including physical inventory, cycle counting, warehouse accuracy, auditing plant materials systems like Kanban and MRP, etc.
6. Ship case and kit orders on time.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Required.
10+ years of supply chain, operations, inventory and leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, processes, systems, facilities planning, shop /equipment capabilities, engineering practices and procedures.
Knowledge of Kanban systems.
Advanced expertise in MS office including but not limited to Excel (Pivots, VLOOKUP, Conditional Functions, etc), Outlook, Word and Power Point are required.
Knowledge of Oracle MRP system is a plus.
