We hold over a 122 U.S. patents as well as 320 international patents from more than a dozen countries.

Harry Hussmann patented the first meat display case in 1917,
cooled with ice and salt.

Hussmann invented the first self-service frozen food display case in 1935.

In the 1940’s, Hussmann developed the first dairy multi-deck merchandiser.

The company introduced multi-deck frozen food display fixtures in 1960.

Hussmann developed foamed high-back multi-deck meat cases in the 1970’s

In 1984, we introduced La Gallerié line of curved glass cases.

Protocol refrigeration systems came to market in 1993.

In 2002, we launched Innovator II doors, bringing greater energy efficiency to reach-in cases

In 2018, we introduced microDS, the industry’s first environmentally-safe refrigerant.
