The Company is looking for someone with strong accounting and analytical skills that has the capabilities and desire to grow in the Hussmann Accounting and Finance Organization. The Senior Accountant will be the owner of Hussmann Fixed Assets and overall Capital Expenditure Process, driving process improvements and improved reporting that will provide leaders with required information to make informed decisions. This role will also have a key responsibility in assisting with system implementations and process improvements in the corporate accounting area ' related to fixed assets and other areas as assigned.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall capital expenditure and fixed asset process, which includes the following:

  • Completing required journal entries and reconciliations on a monthly basis

  • Completing monthly reporting - capex actuals compared to budget and forecast, fixed asset and capex reporting in OneStream and others as required

  • Meeting with project owners on the status of projects on a regular basis

  • Placing assets in service and retiring assets in a timely manner

  • Reviewing and providing feedback on capital expenditure projects requested for approval, as well as, reviewing costs incurred on projects to make sure they are properly capitalized

  • Reviewing and updating forms, policies and procedures on a regular basis

  • Leading a fixed asset physical inventory as required per the policy

  • Participating in the system implementation project as a subject matter expert on fixed assets

  • Obtaining feedback from businesses and others in your area to drive improvements in the overall process

  • Responsible for leading the review of a corporate department (i.e. finance, HR, legal, etc), partnering with the corporate department leader to explain results for the month, quarter and year. In addition, responsible for the creation of the forecast and business plan based on feedback from the corporate department leader, as well as, assisting in the presentation of the results to leadership.

  • Responsible for various accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.

  • Supports quarterly and yearly audits with external and internal auditors.

  • Drives process improvements, efficiencies, and participates/leads projects supporting Hussmann strategic initiatives.

  • Responsible for backing up others in the corporate accounting group and participating in ad-hoc analysis and projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 3+ years in public accounting or 5+ years in accounting roles

  • Experience in a Shared Services/Corporate Accounting environment preferred

  • Experience working with capital expenditure projects and fixed assets preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications including Word, Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), and Access

  • Oracle, Dynamics, Infor XA, SAP and OneStream experience a plus

  • Experience with Blackline, Alteryx or Other Automation Tools a plus

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service oriented

  • Ability to generate new ideas / solutions and think independently; strong research and analytical skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
